Mission: $28 Million for Streetcars
Office of Tribal Transportation - Federal Highway Administration - U.S. Department of Transportation
What can you do with $28,000,000? Yes, Twenty Eight Million Dollars. Weigh in on June 23rd, 2022 by signing up at
least 2 days in advance, and showing up to 9:00 AM foe meeting at 2310 Broening Highway. Baltimore can well benefit by starting
to run ferries, even this Summer through receiving permit monies and tourism dollars! Study in today's terms does not reflect
heavy electric tired vehicle batteries, which there is no data due mainly because few have thought of this gravity factor,
especially regarding bridges. People LOVE ferries - the nostalgia of a luxurious boat trip. [Not a stuffy smelly bus ride....]
Please give people who do not have an automobile to visit Eastern Shore - again - and Eastern Shore to Baltimore.
This choice makes $$$$ To quote Carly Simon, "These are the good old days."
STATE OF MARYLAND GOVERMENT
THE PROBLEM:
Chesapeake Bay Memorial Bridge Has Too Much Traffic
TIER 1 Study Cost: $5,000,000 ~ Five Million Dollars

million] (2016)
"I want to encourage all Marylanders to take time this year to come here to visit Dorchester County, to travel
the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Scenic Byway, to visit the countless immersive exhibits, which cover every
period of Harriet Tubman's life from slavery to freedom, or to come see the amazing artifacts from the Ben Ross cabin
site, which was confirmed just last fall to have been the home of Harriet Tubman's father. It is truly inspiring to think
about how we can walk along the same path she did, where she forged her indelible legacy of freedom."
It is nice to glamorize where Harriet Tubman was born and all, but she never came back to Church Creek. Yet, Harriet Tubman's
biggest feat was returning to Maryland, Baltimore specifically, to get her sister and family to freedom through a "buy
the slaves" scheme. Most Baltimoreans and other financially strapped Marylanders who do not nor should be forced to
purchase an automobile. cannot get to Dorchester County without much hurdle, taking one transit to another, taking much of
a day of travel. Then it would further cost as a hotel would be needed....
Baltimore <--> Church Creek is 59.82 miles (via land and water)
Baltimore <--> Church Creek is 82 miles (131.97 kilometers) via Route 50 and the Chesapeake Bay Memorial Bridge
Governor Hogan Proposes Tier 2 Study Cost: $28,000,000 ~ Twenty Eight Million Dollars
Chesapeake Bay Crossing Study
There needs to be a major restructuring of the State Department of Maryland Transportation. All the monies need to be universally
together - one pot. This is the only way that decisions can be truly made as to what is best for Marylander. Otherwise,
highways and broadening bridges will continue to bankrupt Maryland, while the majority of residents not receive any benefit
at all. The United States trend is to stop building highways. We've been building them for nearly 100 years, and we have
more than enough. ONE POT O' MONEY.
Governor Hogan's "Transit" Plan Picture. Cut EZ passes permanently and raise MTA every 2 years. Spend $28 million on 4-5 year
study for an e-mail and packet of ink-filled paper.

Governor appoints the Secretary and the entire board. Each can serve up to 12 years. This becomes a board that will approve
anything the Governor wants. Friends. Why are there 2 realtors on the board? Houses are not transportation. Historically,
realtors are known for - have stopped and have gotten rid of public transit. Called, NIMBY, "Not in My Back Yard!" This is
an incestuous-type board. This is an abuse of power, and State of Maryland Congress needs to change that Governor can only
appoint a Secretary of Transportation and no board members. No wonder Baltimore City cannot get any transit.
Board:
8 Members - Gender Breakdown: 7 men and only one woman. Not gender diverse. This is a violation of appointment rules.
8 Members - Work/Career/Expertise:
2 Realtors
1 Paving and Asphalt Company
1 Moving and Storage
1 Underground Utility Contractor
2 Certified Public Accountants
1 Engineer - who is employed by a Highway construction company
The board should be comprised of people who are retired and have no financial conflict of interests. Board needs to reflect
various types of transit, not just focused on roads and bridges for automobiles. This is not where as a state and a country
we are mandated to go. Electric car does not change traffic. Electric batteries are HEAVY, and can vastly change the strength
of current infrastructure.
"In 2015, the governor announced major toll rollbacks across the state, resulting in <U?$270 million in savings</U>
for our citizens."
WASTE: Governor Hogan states in video he wants to know if ferries can work - take cars back and forth, but more importantly,
just passengers, and perhaps some bicycles! OF COURSE! FOR MANY DECADES!!!! THEY DO, and more can - RIGHT NOW!!!!
A FOUR TO FIVE Year "STUDY" is NOT TRANSIT. It is STEALING to give to study pals. We need to use President Biden's money
- Better.
The study - four to five years to complete.
