Baltimore, let us no longer lose out on more federal geothermal funding dollars.

DETERMINED. INNOVATIVE. SHOCKINGLY BRILLIANT. SUCCESS ONLY TOGETHER - ACHIEVING UNITED GOAL:
SAVE "HOME" = THRIVING QUALITY OF LIFE.
BALTIMORE CITY & STATE OF MARYLAND
MISSION: To create Baltimore City Energy Independence through an environmentally conscious hydro and geothermal continuous
direct energy circular system.
VISION: An Energy Independent Cooperative Utility system will give the ability for Baltimore to never have power outages,
no longer need bill subsidies, plentiful heat and cooling, hot water, produce electricity, and even geocooking. Since it
is a co-op utility entity(least costly is Co-op, more costly is city-owned, and most costly is private), it will give patronage
dividends. The system works through connecting every building through pipes and geothermal heat pump to cisterns and tanks
under every street and sidewalk where applicable.
It is imperative to bring back Beavers. We need beaver population as they were before man decimated their numbers through
hunting and on purpose captured to remove, "for good." Flooding waters from sea level rise will be abated as we will need
more water for geothermal service to all. It will help mitigate with making certain streets canals, as well as other several
methods needed, like the Venetians and Dutch use/develop.
Using Low Enthalpy Geothermal, the type that uses the natural lay of land, places that have already been drilled, especially
abandoned water and oil wells, near/at water bridges and tunnels, building cooling towers, and placing underground pipes,
cisterns, and tanks where already intended to be filled, like "Highway to Nowhere" with generator to create electricity (Just
like hydropower - zero carbon emissions and no waste) and continue the cycling of water throughout Baltimore City. Low Enthalpy
Geothermal, together with other documented hydrothermal, hydropower from Liberty Dam (city-owned), and building water wheel
in Baltimore's Harbor - Patapsco River the same size as largest in world, Isabella in Isle of Man, with propellorless gyroscope
wind turbines (large and chimney attaching-size) and wind-wave horizontal turbines (can be placed under bridges) will more
than generate the power to propel seamlessly the environmentally sound energy cycle that lasts - forever.
Using melding hydrothermal and geothermal - the continuous energies, with bonus - wind and solar, Baltimore City's future
is bright beyond belief. Selling excess energy sure makes it an extraordinary scenario. Patronage dividends means freedom.
Continuous private sector utility price hikes - forever bleak and remain hostage to fracking and toxic waste. What is your
choice?
WHY NOW? There are cities who are well on their way to installing geothermal systems. There has been several rounds of federal
monies focused on various aspects of geothermal usage, even with how to build the team necessary for success.
With only 7 awards, so 7 jurisdictions (though 74 million dollars): whether town, city, state, or multi-state; because of
the hunger of lowering energy costs, the Summer of 2022 extreme heat for most of USA, and wild fires, especially in California
electric companies turning off power completely at most needed times, there is no dilly-dallying.
Becoming the leader
It is not just money for Baltimore to construct energy independent geothermal and hydrothermal direct system for all, but
to present a design that can be duplicated in other towns, cities, and states.
East Coast Cities
Being in Round One offers the least competition. As Baltimore is an, "East Coast City," because of its waterways, dams,
and regional water system, it well qualifies for Topic Area 1.
Round Two, if progresses (if money left) will be much more difficult as Topic Area 4 is added, specific to East Coast. Beat
out all East Coast Cities through Round One. They are waiting for Round Two, of which not guaranteed to be. There are cities,
like Florida's Miami who are poised from extensive work already done in their infrastructure.

[Yes, during depression]
President Roosevelt, how true your words, "New sphere" continue to be - prophetic.
"The first proposed combined wastewater energy transfer (WET) and geothermal system in the world."
"The first proposed combined wastewater energy transfer (WET) and geothermal system in the world, the renewable energy
system will utilize thermal energy transfer from geothermal energy and energy captured through wastewater flowing through
pipes to provide 100% of the heating, hot water, and cooling load for Amalgamated Housing Cooperative's
316 affordable housing units in two 20-story multi-family towers. The project's goal is to reduce Tower I and Tower
II's energy usage from a site energy use index (EUI) of 111.5 to 40, representing a decrease of 2,741 carbon tons to
zero. Currently, the housing cooperative towers use steam heat that runs on fossil fuels. ....
'Everybody in New York showers, does their laundry and dishes, and that's just thrown away,' says Lynn Mueller, CEO of Vancouver-based
SHARC Energy Systems, the company that makes the wastewater energy transfer (WET) system that will be used in the project.
'It always seemed to me just an enormous waste. That’s why I started SHARC. Why can't we just get that energy back?'
....
What's neat about the technology is a third of the building energy is just continually reused, Mueller notes. 'It never
leaves the building, and only costs 25 cents on the dollar to recover it instead of having to remake it every
day with a boiler. It's totally green because you're recycling it with an electric heat pump. You don't have to
burn any fossil fuels at all to make your hot water."
The oldest limited equity housing cooperative in the United States. It is located in New York City.

"Smart turbines allow energy harvesting from river currents with minimal environmental impact. Traditional turbines for generating
hydropower require dams, as they harness the energy from the head of the water. However, these turbines are placed directly
in a flowing river current and require no head to harness the kinetic energy the water already has. Each one is able
to generate as much as 5kW of power, is easy to install, and requires minimal maintenance. Also, these turbines are designed
to not harm fish and other aquatic life as the water flows through them. Additionally, the turbine has been designed
to protect itself from debris floating through the water. - Worcester Polytechnic Institute

Geothermal Batteries Do: Already Store Massive Amounts of Energy
"Scientists have developed prototype geothermal “batteries” that, unlike conventional batteries, actually tap
and store the heat energy of the Earth to provide heating, cooling and hot water.
The really attractive side? Unlike natural gas or oil furnaces, there are no emissions and no household pollutants like carbon
monoxide.
“This is not a small thing,” said Bob Wyman co-founder of Dandelion, a home geothermal company. “This is
something you might see installed in tens of millions of homes around the country.”"

Liberty Reservoir Cooperative Wildlife Management Area (LRCWMA) is a 9,200 acre owned by the City of Baltimore and manages
to protect the reservoir.
The Liberty Dam was an addition to the watershed, completed in 1955. The reservoir water flows by gravity through a 12.7-mile
long, 10-foot diameter tunnel to the Ashburton Water Filtration Plant for treatment in Baltimore City.
The Baltimore Region’s water supply is safeguarded by the Baltimore Environmental Police. By protecting the natural
resources. provides law enforcement services, and public safety on all Baltimore City Water Supply Lands and Reservoirs.

"During wastewater treatment the liquids are separated from the solids. Those solids are then treated physically and chemically
to produce a semisolid, nutrient-rich product known as biosolids. The terms 'biosolid' and ‘sewage sludge’ are
often used interchangeably. That sludge requires significant energy to treat; about one-third of total electricity use
by a wastewater treatment system.
However. there is a solution on the horizon. Why not safely use that waste to create the electricity needed to process it.
Gasification is a great solution for all forms of waste including biosolids from waste water treatment plants. And this solution
is being implemented across the globe, converting human waste to energy."

an under Patapsco River 1.4 mile long eight-lane tunnel. It is 107 feet (32.6 meters) below harbor water surface level.
MODE FOUR: BRIDGES [By/Near where structures already exist.] Baltimore has many bridges and drudged up land with abundance
of records that can be quickly in use for every conceivable geothermal - thermal use.
MODE FIVE: LAND Low-Enthalpy Geothermal offers a negative to be an extreme positive. It is estimated that Baltimore is the
9th hottest Urban Heat Island. Using the lay of the land of Baltimore, besides the normal benefit of geothermal energy outputs,
Baltimore will have another line of protection against heat - especially wet bulb. Low-Enthalpy also offers Baltimore the
benefit, should there ever be a rise for, can remove arsenic (The Science of the Total Environment (April 2020) -NIH.
MODE SIX: GEOTHERMAL GENERATION - Utilizing, "Highway to Nowhere." A deep sunken part of a highway (I-170) that
is scheduled to be dismantled. 2 Million federal dollars has been allocated. These 2 million dollars can be utilized for
Geothermal Generation and, "400 Block," a unique and innovative energy Park above for all to experience and share
